Winter Mountaineering

Winter in the Scottish mountains demands experience and skills to travel safely and get the most from the fantastic days out that they offer. Mountain motion can help you aquire these skills and practice them under expert guidance. The aim is to take your current abilities and develop them so that you can tackle more challenging winter routes safely. We also offer guided expeditions on the classic winter routes. Winter climbing courses and ice climbing courses are also available.

All courses assume some summer walking / mountaineering experience. Courses vary in difficulty and previous mountaineering and scrambling experience is necessary on some of them. We will advise and discuss this with you.

If you want something a bit more challenging, try our winter climbing courses or ice climbing courses.

Browse the courses that we have to offer below and if you have any questions please contact us. Remember, we also do bespoke guiding and private courses.
