Rock Climbing

One of the fastest growing sports in the UK! but ist much more than that; it's a way of life to some people. We offer a large range of courses as well as personal guiding and coaching. All our courses are available on a private / group basis and we try and run dates to suit you.

From beginners courses to coaching the 'E' grades, Mountain Motion will be running climbing courses on request. We look at fluid rope management, belay set-up and placing protection as well as solving problems that can happen. We will also coach you to move on the rock more positively and inteligently. After all, you climb with your head first and you hands and feet second! You will also get to climb some classic rock into the bargain.

From easy access single and multi-pitch crags to some of the best remote mountain routes in the UK, we have some of the best rock available here in the north west Scotland.

All our climbing courses work on a 1:2 ratio so you get the most from the course. Check out the course list below to see which is right for you.

Intro rock course

Five day course getting you out on real rock and leading climbs. Looking at safe ropework, belaying and stance management and climbing movement. Looking to make you a competent climber. Cost £500 per person

Learn to lead

A three day course. Take the sharp end under the watchful eye and guidance of a professional instructor. Protection, belays, stance management and solving problems. For your first lead or if you want to sort out your ropework, we can help. Cost £300 per person.

Improve your grade

Three day course. Lets look at your movement and approach to climbing. Sort out any niggles in your technique and move you up a grade or two. This will be a mix of seconding harder routes and leading at your limit. Cost £300 per person.

Skye rock

A five day course. From mountain routes on the cullin to fantastic sea cliff climbing. Skye is a wonderful place to climb. Mainly guiding in the VS - E1 range with the opportunity to lead. Cost £600 per person.

Scottish sea stacks tour

We will atempt the three classic sea stacks in Scotland. The old man of Stoer / Am Buachaille and the Old man of Hoy. Cost is for instruction and transport. The course is flexible and accommodation costs will be extra as we travel round. Allow 5-6 days. Cost £700 per person.
