Norway Ice Climbing
Lots of ice climbing and not much walking!. Based in Rujkan and Laerdal in good self catering lodges this is a weeks ice climbing course for those with winter climbing experience.
We will focus on your ice climbing technique, placing ice protection and creating sound belays while ice climbing. There will be the chance to do some leading if desired. Climbing steep ice in the III to VI grades there is plenty of scope for differing abilities.
This year we are extending our Norway Ice after a fantastic week in Laerdal last Feb. This place is really special. Monster frozen waterfalls, stunning scenery and pretty much undiscovered. We climbed classic ice all last February half term and saw no one all week !!
Unlike most other courses, we will pick you up from the airport on the Saturday / Sunday and take you to the accommodation. Airport transfer and all transport and accommodation in Norway during the ice climbing course is included.
The ice climbing courses run from Saturday to Saturday.
We will ice climb Sunday - Friday and then return you to the airport on the Saturday. The cost does not include flights. We can help you book these. We can be flexible on weekend pick up times and dates.
Accommodation is in comfortable self catering lodges. We share cooking and food (Although Richard is quite a chef !).
