Wintery in SCnL in Glencoe

Jan 21, 2014

Once in the Corrie today it was nice and wintery, a fair amount of fresh snow being blown around. Jonathan wanted to do a more mountaineering route today so we did Boomerang Arete which is a great grade II route. Never that steep and nicely do-able with one axe and a small rack and shortish rope. It also avoided the main gully lines. Quite a few other teams in the corrie on Scabbard Chimney, Dorsal, Spectre, Crest route and pinnacle buttress. The climbing looks good at the moment with a wee bit of useable ice around and the crags have plenty of snow on them. The picture is not brilliant as the camera stayed home today.
