Winter climbing in Glencoe
Dec 19, 2013
Alex and I were the only ones to brave the weather today in Stob Corrie nan Lochan in Glencoe. It was fairly wild but not too bad. Heavy snow most of the day, falling as Graupel in the morning. We climbed Dorsal arete which was in nice condition, freezing nicely with some useable frozen snow. With the freeze thaw that is forecast tomorrow eve then things will rime up and ice up nicely. Once the current stormy conditions die down (will they ever?) there should be some good winter climbing to be had.

The first pitch of Dorsal arete.
