Winter climbing.. and so it begins
Nov 11, 2013
The first winter route of the season was done in typical style on Saturday. i.e with good friends and some good craic. Nothing too hard but challenging enough for an opener. Di Gilbert, Robin Clothier and I went into Lochain in the Northern corries to climb something on No1 buttress. We fancied Auricle but Ross and Helen Rennard beat us to it so we did Coronary By-pass, to the left of them. Robin led a nice opening pitch and then I took my time on the wee crux wall which was quite thought provoking, but fairly well protected.
Di then led a nice pitch before Robin took us caving for a slightly different exit pitch.
Looking across to the well cleaned lines of Savage slit and fallout corner.
Ross cruising up the crux of Auricle.
Di exiting from the crux wall.
Di heading up the fourth pitch.
