Winter climbing and ice climbing courses across Scotland, Ben nevis, Glencoe and the Skye Cuillin ridge
A fabulous day on Ben Nevis today. At last some superb weather. Ian was keen to go up Observatory ridge and then down North East Buttress. So thats what we did. Ian was pretty competent and fit so from the bottom of Observatory to the bottom of North East Buttress took us five hours. Clean dry rock and fantastic views across an inversion that slowly lifted during the morning.
Just four abs needed down North East Buttress. Could have got away with three but we had lots of time so hey.
The inversion from the CIC hut.
Looking up to the ridges and glorious dry rock and blue skies! Yeah!
Looking out across the cloud. You can just see Mike in the top lefton Tower ridge.
Climbing the steeper lower part of Observatory ridge.
