Snow, snow, snow… and some ice! on Ben Nevis
Jan 29, 2014
On Ben nevis today coaching leading with Paul and Tim. The original intent was to climb either Neptune gully or North trident buttress, with the guys doing all the ropework and me alongside coaching. Lots of snow, poor viz and strong winds saw us change venue but not plan. We climbing the Douglas Boulder which resembled some funky alpine ridge with so much snow on it. The hill is really quite buried. (see Ben conditions report). The guys did well leading, building the belays and working on Stance management.
Mike climbed Gutlass which looked ok conditions and Simon Richardson climbed the East ridge.
On the Boulder
Mike Pescod, sat on what is usually the abseill block!!!
