Presenting at the 2014 Backcountry ski gathering

Dec 02, 2014

A great day on Saturday presenting and doing some workshops at the backcountry ski gathering at Nevis Range. The day was well attended with around 100 people. Some inspirational stuff from Kenny Biggin about his new ski guidebook was followed by Graham from they SAIS giving an update on the avalanche service this year.

I then did a piece on winter mountaineering skills for ski tourers and Davy did some updates on transceivers and rescue equipment. Workshops in the afternoon were followed by a social. (With me playing a few tunes) in the early evening.

There was a a trade stand by Mountain Boot Company, showing their new Black Crow skis and Scarpa ski boots which all looked great. Black Crows seem to have a great range out.

Well done to Jeff and Nevis Range for putting together another great gathering.
