Winter climbing and ice climbing courses across Scotland, Ben nevis, Glencoe and the Skye Cuillin ridge
Headed into Stob Corrie nan Lochan in Glencoe today for a mountaineering themed day. One axe, a few slings and a short rope.
An often overlooked route is to pick your way up summit buttress by which ever way takes your fancy, looking at the firtst picture, the ridge between light and shade works well.
We took in a couple of interesting steeper bits and then topped out. Freindly stomp down Broad Gully, with super freindly snow, you could have bumslid from the top. As we had time it was rude not to quickly nip up Dorsal arete. Took all of 30mins. Moved together till the fin then a quick couple of pitches. Then yet another quick stomp / bumslide down Broad gully. A great day.
SCnL inviting in the morning sun, our first route takes the central rib on summit buttress between light and shade.
Looking across to South / Central and North. Some decent conditions but could do with a bit more freeze.
Part way up the main face.
Views out to B-Etive Mor.
Stomping down Broad Gully.
Alan negotiating the Fin on Dorsal arete.
