Cho-No ! Winter Climbing

Nov 22, 2013

Headed East to a little known crag on the East side of the Cairngorms overlooking Strath Nethy. The theory was a super short walk in and a couple of shortish routes. Well, the walk in ain't that short (No shorter than the main fleshpots of the Norries!) but the routes are nice and short with good climbing.
Armed with a tatty copy of Climber mag as a topo, (which got even tattier when Kenny dropped it down the route!)
The West coast posse that headed in with Kenny Grant, Ken Applegate and Scott Kirkhope and myself. Was quite social in there with Mr Ettle and Lyall turning up as well as Di Gilbert and Derek.... Anyone else left!

We headed for the classic, Anvil corner which didn't disappoint. Kenny ran it out in a pitch but it was certainly steeper and a bit more awkward than it looked. We then went round the corner and Ken and I swopped a couple of short pitches on Arch enemy which was very pleasant with lots of good hooks.

Back to the Ciste car park for 2:15pm. fabulous!
